If you are a physician seeking a surgeon for your patient, or a patient seeking a surgical consultation, the department of surgery can help you. Our surgeons are diverse in personality, culture and bedside manner, but we are uniform in our commitment to the highest standards of state-of-the-art patient care, technical excellence and quality assurance/patient safety.

The department of surgery at Jeanes Hospital has a very long tradition of serving the community. Several of our surgeons draw patients from throughout the region and beyond. Many members of our department have practiced at Jeanes for over 20 years, but we also welcome newly trained surgeons so that we have both extensive experience and doctors trained in the latest technology to collaboratively provide the best care for everyone. As part of Temple University Health System, the Jeanes department of surgery also includes many academic surgeons who train surgical residents and are involved in research which will benefit future patients.
In addition to the programs listed separately on the website, we have specialists and subspecialists for every surgical need. Each division is listed separately below.
The division of general surgery is represented by independent practices, group practices and Temple faculty members. From state-of-the-art highly technical minimally invasive procedures to minor surgery, we do it all with an excellent verifiable patient safety record. We have surgeons who are fellowship trained in trauma/critical care, surgical oncology, and laparoscopic surgery. Our breast surgeon is one of the first in the region to receive the Mastery of Breast Surgery certification.
We are also proud of our team of nurses, technologists and support staff who enable us to provide the safest, most caring and efficient hospital experience for our patients. You will not be treated like just another number. Our surgical team treats every patient with respect and professionalism, but also provides individualized care to meet each patient's unique needs - "the best and most personalized care" (a frequent comment from patients after having surgery at Jeanes).
