Tumor Program
As old cells die in the body, new cells replace them. If that balance is upset, a tumor—which is an abnormal growth of cells that develops when cells divide and grow uncontrollably—may develop. Whether a tumor is benign (slow growing) or malignant (rapidly growing, aggressive), the highly-trained specialists at the Jeanes Hospital Neurosciences Center are prepared to provide comprehensive care.

One of the great benefits of tumor treatment at our Neurosciences Center is that patients have access to respected experts from both Temple Health and Fox Chase Cancer Center. Whether the treatment is for a brain or spinal tumor, both neurological teams have extensive experience in safely eliminating tumors and alleviating symptoms for patients.

At Jeanes Hospital, there are a wide array of advanced treatment options available. Depending on the type and of the tumor, our Fox Chase and Temple Health physicians may consider a nonsurgical treatment, such as radiation or chemotherapy, to treat a tumor. If surgery is required, minimally-invasive procedures, including endoscopic or stereotactic radiosurgery, may be used.

The Neurosciences Center at Jeanes Hospital is a state-of-the art facility that provides our Temple Health and Fox Chase neurosciences teams with the latest technology and a well-trained support staff. With such a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the diagnosis, treatment and management of tumors—all in one location—patients can feel confident they are receiving a level of care unparalleled in the region.
